無論出家在家。必須上敬下和。忍人所不能忍。行人所不能行。代人之勞。成人之美。靜坐常思己過。閒談不論人非。行住坐臥。穿衣吃飯。從朝至暮。從暮至朝。一句佛號。不令間斷。或小聲念。或默念。除念佛外。不起別念。若或妄念一起。當下就要教他消滅。常生慚愧心及懺悔心。縱有修持。總覺我功夫很淺。不自矜誇。只管自家。不管人家。只看好樣子。不看壞樣子。看一切人都是菩薩。唯我一人實是凡夫。果能依我所說修行。決定可生西方極樂世界。

南無阿彌陀佛！阿彌陀佛！

諸惡莫作。眾善奉行。自淨其意。是諸佛教。

Whether one is a layperson or has left the home-life, one should respect elders and be harmonious to those surrounding him.	無論出家在家。必須上敬下和。
One should endure what others cannot, and practice what others cannot achieve.	忍人所不能忍。行人所不能行。
One should take others’ difficulties unto oneself and help them succeed in their undertakings	代人之勞。成人之美。
While sitting quietly, one should often reflect upon one’s own faults, and when chatting with friends, one should not discuss the rights and wrongs of others.	靜坐常思己過。閒談不論人非。
In every action one makes, whether dressing or eating, from dawn to dusk and dusk ‘till dawn, one should not cease to recite the Buddha’s name.	行住坐臥。穿衣吃飯。從朝至暮。從暮至朝。一句佛號。不令間斷。
Aside from Buddha recitation, whether reciting quietly or silently, one should not give rise to other improper thoughts.	或小聲念。或默念。除念佛外。不起別念。
If wandering thoughts appear, one should immediately dismiss them.	若或妄念一起。當下就要教他消滅。
Constantly maintain a humble and repentful heart; even one has upheld true cultivation, one should still feel one’s practice is shallow and never boast.	常生慚愧心及懺悔心。縱有修持。總覺我功夫很淺。不自矜誇。
One should only mind one’s own business and not the business of others.	只管自家。不管人家。
Only look after the good examples of others instead of bad ones.	只看好樣子。不看壞樣子。
One should see oneself as mundane and everyone else as Bodhisattvas.	看一切人都是菩薩。唯我一人實是凡夫。
If one can cultivate according to these teachings, one is sure to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Homage to Amitabha! Amitabha!	果能依我所說修行。決定可生西方極樂世界。南無阿彌陀佛！阿彌陀佛！

n 禮佛發願文印光大師敬撰

我弟子從于今日，專修淨業。唯祈臨終，往生上品，見佛聞法，頓證無生。然後不違安養，遍入十方，逆順隱顯，種種方便，宏通此法，度脫眾生。盡未來際，無有間歇。虛空有盡，我願無窮。願釋迦彌陀，常住三寶，愍我愚誠，同垂攝受。

簡單註解：

唯祈：只祈求

往生上品：有上品中品下品往生。這裡大師是希望我們立大志向，往生上品，早日成佛度眾。

無生：「無生」就是我們的本來面目；是每個人的靈性、佛性，也就是沒有生死的意思；無生的地方就叫做「涅槃」，無生也就是清淨自性。

安養：阿彌陀佛淨土也有古大德翻譯為「安養國」。

十方：是指東、南、西、北、東南、西南、東北、西北、上、下十個方位，意即四面八方、天上地下全都包容。

逆順隱顯：逆(如示現困苦，得癌症或逆行示現，如濟公活佛)，順境，隱 (如默默無名)，顯 (如講經弘法)。

方便：如示現賭博，入賭場，度眾生 ...。 [佛家有「方便出下流」之說，所以真菩薩才好方便度眾]

釋迦：釋迦牟尼佛

彌陀：阿彌陀佛

常住：固定不變地存在的，如自性

三寶：佛，法，僧
